IA: Council approves second campground cabin

EMMETSBURG, Iowa — At its July 9 meeting, the Emmetsburg City Council approved a contracted service agreement with Iowa Lakes Community College for construction of a second cabin at Five Campground.

The new cabin will be smaller than the existing cabin, which has a loft. The cost is $58,833, roughly $30,000 less than cabin one but, as interim City Administrator Kim Kibbie noted, the cost for electrical, plumbing and heating has yet to be factored in the final price. The estimated completion date is next May.
