THE VILLAGES, Fla. — Doug Watson, park manager at Lake Griffin State Park, held the Florida State Park Passport booklet of Dick and Donna Curtis, and was astonished to find they had visited all 160 state parks in just three years, reports the Villages Daily Sun.
“It was incredible to me,” he said, explaining that he had never seen a completed passport booklet in his time at the area state park. “(Dick) made notes on each park (page). I could look at all the places I worked.”
The couple moved to The Villages in 2008 and wanted to learn more about Florida’s state parks, which they referred to as “The Real Florida.” They aspired to see nature up close and learn about the history of the state.
