Crews contain most of wildfire at New York State Park

ELLENVILLE, N.Y. — State officials said the brush fire at the Sam’s Point Preserve in the Minnewaska State Park Preserve in Ulster County was 60 percent contained by late Wednesday.

About 300 firefighters remain at the scene of the fire, which started Saturday afternoon and forced the evacuation of hundreds of park visitors.
