AGS partners with CampgroundViews to provide virtual tours

CROWLEY, Texas — Most campgrounds now have a website, but only a handful have discovered how well they can showcase their parks with online video tours, AGS noted today.

“This is the future of campground and RV park marketing,” said Mark Koep, founder of CampgroundViews.com.

Adding 60-degree video tours are similar to, yet better than Google Earth’s street level tours, by allowing consumers the ability to check out campsites and anything else they want to explore in a campground from any angle, he explained.

Through a partnership with AGS, CampgroundViews.com is offering significant discounts of up to 20 percent or more for campgrounds, RV parks and resorts that also use AGS to produce site maps or guest guides for their parks.

“If you hire AGS to do your guest guide, you’ll get preferential pricing from CampgroundViews.com as a result of our marketing partnership,” said Brian Schaeffer, CEO of AGS. “Both of our companies provide parks with marketing products that can enhance their competitive edge.”

While most people search for campgrounds online, campground websites that include virtual video tours score much higher booking rates than those that do not, Koep said, citing a Google and Ipsos MediaCT report. The report noted that 74 percent of affluent travelers will book immediately upon seeing a video of a property that captures their interest.

Schaeffer said the marketing world is changing.

“Campgrounds need to get with the times and continue to improve their marketing efforts with a variety of tools, including websites with integrated virtual tours as well as guest guides that showcase local businesses whose products and services guests are likely to need during their stay,” he explained.

Koep added that campgrounds that fail to proactively produce their own videos risk having their image defined by guests who post unprofessional videos of their parks on Facebook or YouTube.

“It’s better to get out in front of these emerging market trends and showcase your park the way you would like it to be seen,” Koep said.

“Video tours also provide guests with more realistic expectations of what your park has and they’ve been shown to reduce phone calls to the front desk by as much as 40 percent,” he explained.

“CampgroundViews.com is working to make camping amazing by making it easy for the right campers to find the right campground,” said Koep.
