Woman dies as tree mysteriously falls at Mich. campground

(July 9, 2013) -- Wibbeler said Monday that a large maple tree broke off at the ground and fell on the top of a tent, which was occupied by Mary Hickling, 39, of Lincoln Park. Hayes State Park manager Jim O’Brien said the tree appeared healthy from the outside and showed no signs of rotting or distress.

Inattentive RVer knocks can 150 feet

(July 8, 2013) -- Tyler Van Vactor, 19, was stopped on the highway in his Volkswagen Jetta waiting to turn onto a forest service road. That’s when a 36-foot motorhome came around a curve behind him and crashed into the back of his car, knocking it 150 feet down the highway into some trees, KATU-TV noted.

Police seek missing Kentucky RVer

(July 8, 2013) -- Clyde Johnson, 47, was president of the Floyd County Bar Association and city attorney for the town of Martin. According to the paper, he had told his secretary he was going on a camping trip with his dog and would return on June 24. He was still missing nearly two weeks after his disappearance.
