(Jan. 31, 2017) -- The hinge pin may separate from the hinge plate, leading the side of the door to shift. This condition could cause the springs to lift off the hinged end of the door and could cause the top of the door to swing down with more force than normal, increasing the risk of personal injury, NHTSA explained.
