Podcast 182 features Mitul Chandrani from Xantrex

Today’s guest is Mitul Chandrani, the senior marketing manager at Xantrex, which is located in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The company makes inverters and battery chargers for the RV industry. In fact, it is hard to find a motorhome or towable that doesn’t have a Xantrex product on it.

He describes several of the firm’s flagship products, such as the Freeedom eGen, a lithium-ion battery-based power system that offers safe, clean, efficient onboard power with high power density and low operating cost.

He also talks about the Freedom X, the company’s best selling product. It is a robust pure sine wave inverter powerful enough to operate a residential refrigerator. It can even manage heavy surge loads.

Mitul explains how RVers can benefit from replacing a worn out inverter with an inverter charger to deliver even more power to their appliances and gadgets.

Xantrex is a leader in consumer education, and Mitul has developed a number of training videos to help dealers sell more products and help consumers understand how to take advantage of the equipment installed on their RVs.

Inverters and chargers are essential pieces of equipment that people don’t really see too often, nor appreciate until it breaks and the RV has no power.

Xantrex has been a true innovator in the RV industry for decades. The company is always looking for ways to deliver more clean power to an RV.  As campgrounds fill up and people look for boondocking opportunities, Xantrex products can help extend the length of their trips.

Like Mitul said, more customers want residential-style appliances and electronics in their RVs. All that requires a lot of energy to start up and sustain the equipment. It is very important that RV manufacturers install the right type of inverters and chargers to ensure power is always available.

He offers insight as to why lithium-ion batteries are significantly better than traditional lead acid batteries, such as the ability to store and retain more power as well as charge faster.
