(May 28, 2012) -- The Associated Press reports that the city of Williston has taken another step toward making living in an RV outside a designated RV park illegal.

WILLISTON, N.D. — The Associated Press reports that the city of Williston has taken another step toward making living in an RV outside a designated RV park illegal.

On Thursday, the Williston City Commission gave first-round approval to an ordinance that would fine violators $500 a day, reports the Associated Press.

The Associated Press reports that people are living in RVs in the state’s oil patch because of a housing shortage. Opponents say the ordinance will leave many without a place to live.
