WA: Campers watch at fire races toward RV park

(July 11, 2018) -- When the first warning from local law enforcement came at 12:30 am on Tuesday, Mike Williams said he couldn't see any fire, or smell any smoke.

VANTAGE, Wash. — When the first warning from local law enforcement came at 12:30 am on Tuesday, Mike Williams said he couldn’t see any fire, or smell any smoke.

Williams, who is from Goldendale, Wash., has been camping in Vantage, Washington for several weeks now to work on a airplane hangar project nearby.
