Vintage campers roll into Auburn, Ala., for campout

(March 26, 2015) -- On the second weekend of April, decades will mingle as campers from the 1940s to the 1980s roll into Chewacla State Park, in Auburn, Ala., for the third annual Vintage Camper Campout.

AUBURN, Ala. — On the second weekend of April, decades will mingle as campers from the 1940s to the 1980s roll into Chewacla State Park for the third annual Vintage Camper Campout, Auburn Villager reported.

The event will take place April 11 and 12, and John Oldman, Chewacla volunteer and creator of the campout, welcomes camper owners and non-owners alike to come out for the event, according to The Auburn Villager.

The event includes an open house starting Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by a barbecue that evening. The Auburn Villager.

“Vintage campers love to show off their campers, so you’re always welcome to look in someone’s vintage camper; they kind of like that,” Oldman told The Auburn Villager. “I’m one of them, too.
