VA: Iconic Airstream trailers to rally in Big Stone Gap

(Aug. 9, 2018) -- Members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International Inc. will be parking their travel trailers at Jessie Lea RV Park Wednesday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 19.

NORTON, Va. — The world’s largest Airstream club will be holding a rally in Big Stone Gap next week.

Members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International Inc. will be parking their travel trailers at Jessie Lea RV Park Wednesday, Aug. 15 through Sunday, Aug. 19.

According to Steve Lambert, a member of its Virginia Unit, the club was started in the 1930s by Wally Byam, who made Airstream trailers. To promote the trailers, he came up with the idea of organizing caravans to various locations.
