SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Camping website Hipcamp, which reviews and photographs each Northern California campground, and covers beginning backpacking, favorite camping meals, and more, has compiled a list of the best places to camp in Northern California, 7X7 SF reported.
According to Hipcamp Founder and CEO Alyssa Ravasion, “Julia Pfeiffer Burns Campground in Big Sur is the best. It has only two sites and sits right on top of the gorgeous McWay Falls in Big Sur, looking out over the Pacific Ocean.” Ravasio and Co-Founder Eric Bach have come up with the top five NorCal campground alternatives, 7X7 SF explained.
1. Angel Island Campground, Angel Island State Park
“This amazing campground just a short ferry away from San Francisco with 360 degree views of the bay!”
2. Steep Ravine Cabins & Campgrounds, Mount Tamalpais State Park
“Killer cabins and campsites on a bluff over the Pacific Ocean just 45 minutes north of San Francisco. Gorgeous views of the ocean and a perfect spot for sunset.”
