RV helps “American Pickers” star with Crohn’s disease

(Jan. 17, 2011) -- Quad City Times reports "American Pickers" producers accommodate Frank Fritz, who has Crohn's disease, by bringing along an RV with a bathroom to help him cope with the disease.

Quad City Times reports Frank Fritz of the History Channel’s “American Pickers” is becoming a public face for Crohn’s disease, which he was diagnosed with about 25 years ago.

The newspaper explains Crohn’s, an incurable chronic disease of the intestinal tract, has symptoms that include abdominal pain, weight loss, fever, rectal bleeding, skin and eye irritation, and diarrhea.

For Fritz, it also can include an urgent need to use a restroom, says the Quad City Times, and the “American Pickers” producers accommodate him by bringing along a recreational vehicle to provide portable facilities and to give him and co-star Mike Wolfe a place to rest.
