WASHINGTON — It’s been 7 months since our last Harvest Hosts stop (at the B.B. King museum in Mississippi) and almost a year since we stayed at a Harvest Hosts farm market. There haven’t been many along our route so we were looking forward to our stay at Brown’s Market. It was great – quiet at night with beautiful scenery in the day and a helpful, friendly contact person.
The market was founded in 1948 and has grown to include a deli, candy island, specialty canned foods, bakery, café, floral department, retail greenhouse, and ice cream stand. Apples, sweet corn, peaches, plums, cherries, strawberries, pears, asparagus, and pumpkins are grown on the farm and sold in season.
