MT: Passion for restoring old campers yields an astonishing find

(July 11, 2017) -- "I just happened to see it behind a barn only 10 miles from here," said Mcmurtrey, who lives just north of Billings. "It was completely gutted. He didn't know what it was and I didn't either. I just liked the curves."

BILLINGS, Mont. — It was a barn find that neither the owner nor Alan Mcmurtrey knew much about.

But Mcmurtrey bought it, towed it home and set about finding local businesses that could help him restore the strange, aerodynamic-shaped camper trailer with the name “Aero Flite” on the side.

“I just happened to see it behind a barn only 10 miles from here,” said Mcmurtrey, who lives just north of Billings. “It was completely gutted. He didn’t know what it was and I didn’t either. I just liked the curves.”
