COLUMUBS, Ohio — A man says he bought a brand new camper to relax with his family and help relieve stress but is instead already frustrated with his $40,000 purchase.

Randy Riffle says he bought the 2018 XLR Nitro Toy Hauler camper from Specialty RV in Lancaster in April. In those few months, he says it’s already been in the shop twice, so he called ABC 6 On Your Side for help.

  1. This guy best sell and buy a tent or stay in Motel 6. New, old, used, no matter what the cost (and $40,000 is not a lot in this hobby) there will always be something to fix.

  2. True enough Captn John. That said – it does seem the RV manufactures are getting units out the door as fast as possible and quality is suffering. I plan to buy one to travel for a year and am very reluctant to buy new for this very reason.
