iPad inside stolen Airstream sends police to house

(June 16, 2015) -- On Monday, while FOX 4 was talking to the owners of a stolen vintage Airstream, the husband’s phone ‘pinged’, signaling to him that the iPad that was inside the Airstream when it was stolen, had been turned on.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — On Monday, while FOX 4 was talking to the owners of a stolen vintage Airstream, the husband’s phone ‘pinged’, signaling to him that the iPad that was inside the Airstream when it was stolen, had been turned on.

The ‘ping’ was coming from a house on North 81st Terrace in Kansas City, Kan., according to FOX 4.

The FOX 4 crew on the scene said police were called. A woman inside the residence cooperated with police, and she showed them her own iPad. Police asked her to ‘have a talk’ with the other resident of the house, who brought out a backpack that contained the stolen iPad. The iPad had been destroyed.
