Ill. couple blames Thor for RV’s alleged ‘non-conformities’

(Feb. 27, 2013) -- On Feb. 8, Charles and Cheri Creekmore, of Madison County, filed a lawsuit against Thor Industries Inc., doing business as Thor Motor Coach Inc., claiming an RV they bought is riddled with problems the company is unable to correct, reports the Madison County Record.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — On Feb. 8, Charles and Cheri Creekmore, of Madison County, filed a lawsuit against Thor Industries Inc., doing business as Thor Motor Coach Inc., claiming an RV they bought is riddled with problems the company is unable to correct, reports the Madison County Record.

The Creekmores say they bought a new Thor Challenger Motor Coach in Arkansas in Aug. 2011, with the intent of using it for recreation at home in Illinois, according to the complaint.

The couple claims the RV, still under warranty, was “out of serve by reason of repair of non-conformities for a total of days in excess of 30 business days during the statutory warranty period,” writes the Madison County Record.

The Creekmores contend Thor Industries is obligated to provide them with a new vehicle to replace the one they bought or refund the full purchase price.

  1. I have a friend who has just bought a Thor Tuscany motorhome. Both furnace’s wouldn’t put out enough hot air to keep the coach warmer than 55 degrees. Why would a RV manufacturer not put their product thru a rigorous test procedure of all components before letting a top end coach leave their factory?
