IL: Shortly after being serviced, motorhome catches fire

(July 17, 2017) -- The chief said Rich Turczyn of Peru was bringing the motor home back from being serviced when he noticed an odor and soon after saw smoke coming out from under the dashboard.

MENDOTA, Ill. — Firefighters were dispatched at 10:18 a.m. and arrived in two pumper trucks and two tanker trucks to find a more than 30-foot-long, 1997 Gulfstream motor home fully involved in fire, said Mendota fire chief Dennis Rutishauser.

The chief said Rich Turczyn of Peru was bringing the motor home back from being serviced when he noticed an odor and soon after saw smoke coming out from under the dashboard.
