Fleetwood RV recalls 561 for electrical system wiring

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Fleetwood RV is recalling 561 model year 2011 Bounder, Bounder Classic, Southwind, Storm and Terra Class A motorhomes built on Ford chassis and manufactured from May 4, 2010 through Jan. 26, 2011. A wire harness that is routed under the motorhome, near the chassis rail, can contact a heat shield located next to the passenger side engine exhaust manifold. The close proximity can cause the harness to melt or be otherwise damaged.

A damaged wire harness can result in an electrical short, which can pose a risk of electrical shock and/or lead to a fire.

Dealers will inspect and reroute the wire harness away from the heat shield, free of charge. Owners may contact Fleetwood Owner Relations at 1.800.509.3418.

Fleetwood’s safety recall no. is 110520FRV.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1.888.327.4236 (TTY 1.800.424.9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
