Eleven hour standoff at RV park ends peacefully

(Dec. 3, 2014) -- Early Tuesday morning, dispatch received a call reporting shots being fired at the Hillside Palms RV Park in St. George, Utah. After an 11 hour standoff, a man came out with his hands up.

ST. GEORGE, Utah — Early Tuesday morning, dispatch received a call reporting shots being fired at the Hillside Palms RV Park. KCSG reported residents living in nearby trailers voluntarily evacuated as the St George Police SWAT Team moved in.

Police told KCSG the man refused to come out, even after they used every effort to communicate. After 11 hours, several attempts by the SWAT Team and firing pepper spray inside the trailer, the elderly man came out with his hands up.
