ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Donating a car, truck, boat or RV can help build homes. Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes national vehicle donation program is meant to assist Habitat affiliates by generating funds from the sale of donated vehicles, reports the Issaquah Press.
The program started as a pilot program in Washington in Nov. 2003, and was made a national program in 2005.
“The contributions we have received through the Cars for Homes program have increased every year, allowing us to build more houses and serve more families in need of an affordable home,” Mary Martin, Habitat for Humanity of East King County resource development director, said in a news release. “This is a wonderful way to support Habitat’s work!”
