Carolina Beach adopts new rules for camping

(Feb 23, 2015) -- After months of discussions, and plenty of comments from the public, the Carolina Beach Town Council has put in place regulations on camping in Freeman Parks.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — After months of discussions, and plenty of comments from the public, the Carolina Beach Town Council has put in place regulations on camping in Freeman Park, according to Star News Online.

Between April 1 and Sept. 30: Sleeping in vehicle and overnight camping allowed only in designated campsites, to be established along dune side of beach between Markers 4 and 26, Star News Online reported. Reservation required, made on first come, first serve basis, fee will be charged.

Between Oct. 1 and March 31: Sleeping in vehicle and overnight camping allowed anywhere on beach. No fee or reservation required, Star News Online explained.
