CA: Council leans toward outdoor smoking ban

(May 23, 2018) -- Results of a city-administered smoking survey are in and 70 percent of the 350 responses indicated that they would be in support of banning smoking in outdoor recreational areas such as beaches, trails, picnic areas and parks.

HALF MOON BAY, Calif. — Results of a city-administered smoking survey are in and 70 percent of the 350 responses indicated that they would be in support of banning smoking in outdoor recreational areas such as beaches, trails, picnic areas and parks.

In response to a survey question that inquired whether there were other outdoor areas that should remain smoke-free, 17 percent of responders indicated that they would like to see a ban on smoking downtown and along sidewalks in retail areas.
