Arkansas couple’s crime spree ends with arrests

(June 26, 2015) -- A couple accused of shoplifting in Cody, Wyo., was arrested. The duo attracted attention at the Cody KOA on Friday after refusing to vacate the campground.

CODY, Wyo. — A crime spree perpetuated by two Arkansas residents ended with their arrest on Saturday, June 20, according to Cody Enterprise. Casey Smith and Virginia Smith, both of Marrilton, Ark., were arrested for criminal entry.

Several calls to the Cody Police Department alerted the officers to incidents observed by customers and campers, Cody Enterprise explained. The CPD received an “anonymous tip” via the internet on June 18 the couple had shoplifted at Albertson’s.

The duo attracted attention at the Cody KOA on Friday morning following a report of campers refusing to vacate the campground after being asked to leave, according to Cody Enterprise.
