Amazon attracting RVers for seasonal work

(Nov. 1, 2011) -- During the holidays, retailers go on a seasonal hiring spree, and like many other companies, Amazon hires "workampers" -- people who travel the country working seasonal or short-term jobs -- at its distribution centers, as the company scrambles to fulfill an influx of orders, reports TechFlash.

SEATTLE, Wash. — Looking for seasonal work? Then hop in your trailer or RV and head to an Amazon distribution center, reports TechFlash. 

During the holidays, retailers go on a seasonal hiring spree, and like many other companies, Amazon hires “workampers” — people who travel the country working seasonal or short-term jobs — at its distribution centers, as the company scrambles to fulfill an influx of orders, reports TechFlash.

TechFlash reports that workampers are nothing new. Some are hitting the road looking to find work after being laid off, and others are retiring baby boomers looking to explore the country.
