CARLSBAD, N.M. — The Carlsbad Caverns National Park will be offering three adventure camps this summer, for kids in second through 10th grade, reported the Carlsbad Current Argus.
For the first time, one of the ParKids day camps will cater to teens with a Teen Adventure Week, to be held June 6-10 for students going into grades eight through 10.
“I think this will be a really good addition for the 13- to 15-year-old age group,” said the park’s Education Specialist, Helen Fields.
The second camp is for children going into grades five through seven, and will be held June 13-17. The final week of ParKids will be for children in grades two through four, and will be held June 20-24.
“The overall theme (for these two camps) is water,” said Fields, “How water formed the cave and how water is still creating formations in the caverns.”
