Opinion: Facebook is an ideal way to offer hope

By Greg Gerber

In the past few months, I’ve taken a whole new approach to Facebook. When you view it as an online community just as vibrant and diverse as the one you live in, Facebook is quite a mission field.

By mission field, I mean there are a bunch of confused and hurting people in your online community who need support and encouragement as well as light to illuminate their path.

Almost every day, I have found at least one person who seems to need encouragement and hope. And that goes beyond just liking a post and adding a praying emoji or the word “praying” to the comment section. I try to offer a few words of encouragement, share a verse or even bang out a quick prayer. Why is this important?
