TORRINGTON, Wyo. -- About 20 Torrington residents attended the third public comment meeting last Thursday at the Lincoln Community Complex, to give the city input on revamping RV regulations. Now one of three important steps toward revising RV law is complete, reports The Torrington Telegram.
The Torrington Telegram reports that resident feedback initially launched the revision process last summer. Because of a rise in RV-related concerns and complaints, the Torrington Police Department administered a survey about current RV rules.
Currently, the ordinance prohibits parking RVs, boats, trailers or similar vehicles that are longer than 20 feet in a resident's front yard. Residents are also prohibited from sleeping or living in recreational equipment while it's parked in a residential lot, reports The Torrington Telegram.
The Torrington Telegram reports that the new draft expands the allowable vehicle length by three feet, and also allows for two major RVs per property. Seasonal parking permits would also allow residents to park any RV from June 1 to Aug. 31.
