SUN CITY, Ariz. -- RV Daily Report announced today that it saw significant increases in unique website visitors, visits and pageviews during 2012.
The company's flagship website at www.rvdailyreport.com logged an average of 28,081 unique visitors per month in 2011, nearly double the average daily visitors in 2010 of 14,340.
Total visits to the website were 661,753 in 2011, an average of 55,146 per month. In 2010, visitors came to the site 493,287 times -- an average of 41,107 visits per month. That's a year-over-year increase of 34.2 percent.
Total pageviews (stories read) last year were logged at 1,532,950, or an average of 127,746 per month. That is 34.2 percent increase over the 2010 pageviews, which totaled 1,177,122 or an average of 98,094 per month.
"I'd like to think RV professionals, campground owners and RV owners are beginning to realize that RV Daily Report is the best source for news and information about the industry," said Editor Greg Gerber. "We posted 6,882 stories in 2011, up from 5,764 in 2010. I think people like having all the industry's news in one central location.
Gerber noted that RV Daily Report's total posted news stories averaged 124 percent of the total stories published by his next two closest competitors -- combined. RV Daily Report published an average of 534 stories per month, compared to 241 for RV Business and 189 for RV-Pro.
"Last year, we listened to our readers and segmented the stories in our newsletter so that the industry news was separate from the campground news and owner news," said Gerber. "Our readers told me they really appreciated that, so we're going to do the same thing on our website in the weeks ahead.
"Some days it seems overwhelming in regards to the amount of information we seem to uncover," he explained. "But our readers tell me over and over they like having all the information available to them rather than allowing some editor to determine what's the 'most important' news of the day.
"The industry is so segmented by manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, service centers, campgrounds, wholesale distributors, full-time RVers, part-time RVers, prospective buyers, etc.," said Gerber. "We feel it is very important to provide all the information we can find and allow readers to determine for themselves what's most important to their highly specialized interests."
Due to the unique configuration of RV Daily Report's newsletter, which provides headlines and summaries of the day's news stories, readers only click through to the website to read the full story, if they want more information, he explained.
"We think our publication remains the best in the industry for its ability to allow readers to remain abreast of every industry segment at a glance," he said.
