RVer accuses Western Horizon of breach of contract for sale of resorts
I suffered thru the sales pitch at Camp Verde. What a dump. They call this a "resort"? I got 4 free days thru the dealer that I bought my RV from. Never once did the dealer or WHR mention that I had to sit thru a sales pitch. This salesman would make any used car salesman look like an amateur. After nearly 2 hours I questioned him about particular resorts on the list. He never once mentioned that many on the list had been sold. When he was done he said he would would leave the room and that we had 15 minutes to make a decision. The price was good only for 15 minutes. I told him that I did not need 15 minutes. I don't make snap decisions on anything, especially when it comes to spending $8K. At that point he got agitated and insinuated that I was an idiot for even questioning either his or WHR's reputation. He asked me to sign a paper with nothing checked as to whether I would buy or not buy. I told him that I wasn't signing anything that wasn't properly filled out. His agitation escalated at that point. I told him that I wanted a couple of days to research the company, and would he call me before I left the park? He said "why would I call you, if you decide to do it, just let them know at the office. They'll contact me." With that he huffed out of the room.

I'm 60 years old and have vast experience in sales and management. I currently own a company that does business consulting. This is the worst sales experience that I have ever had. I can't believe that anyone would buy this on the spot without first checking out the company. Once I checked them out, I left the park as fast as I could.

Good luck to everyone who is a member. Based on my experience, I think things will only get worse. This is a company who obviously has no communication skills and no ethics.

Newmar provides motorhome for Vets Roll tour
Thank you Bob.

I did not know your military background; thank YOU for your service.

Matt Miller and the folks at Newmar truly 'get it' and we are thrilled to partner with them this year!

Our greatest hope is for RV manufacturers and dealers in other parts of the Eastern 1/3 of the country to consider starting a similar program.

These are the men and women who not only saved the face of freedom, but they are also the men and women who have allowed our industry to grow and prosper through the last 40+ years.

The emotional high we have experienced cannot be over stated. We owe this gratitude and celebration to this generation!!

Feel free to contact me at any time if you have an interest in our incredibly successful model. We will update this third trip on Facebook at VetsRoll.org.

As a disabled veteran myself, I want to publicly thank Newmar for this kind gesture toward these veterans and this project. We are fighting different wars now and it is difficult for many people to truly understand the dangerous environment we send our brave men and women into for the war on terrorism. The death and injuries to our veterans brings incredible hardship and pain families and loved ones. Anything we can do to help lessen that pain and make the sacrifices understandable is welcome and Newmar should be commended for helping out with this effort. Thank you Newmar! by Bob Zagami
UVS Junction warns dealers about Craigslist postings
I can see ICANN getting involved (since they are the international governing body that issues domain names) if someone used Craigslist in their domain name (e.g., craigslist-info.com or some such), but that is not the same as auto-posting. Otherwise, a court would have to get involved, or the federal government. Craigslist by themselves cannot seize anybody's domain name. by Rex Gambill
UVS Junction warns dealers about Craigslist postings
Angie,

It is a "tool" and not true automation. But tools like that have to be authorized or they are against the terms of service.

eBay has serveral tools that are allowed(those companies pay ebay to allow them). Craigslist does not because it is not how they want to run their company. eBay is for businesses to sell(more now than in the past) while craiglists has tried to remain a consumer to consumer website. They have minimal staff and the site is moderated by the community.

Craigslist likely spends most of their man hours trying to block the next "tool". eBay hates this because eBay owns s significant percentage of craigslist they bought from a former employee. But lawsuit after lawsuit has found in craigslist favor. They can continue to use whatever business model they wish even if it minimizes profit. by Aaron

Inventor creates wood-burning stove for RVs Inventor creates wood-burning stove for RVs

The Kimberly Stove is designed for use in RVs, yurts, boats and trailers.BURTON, Wash. -- Two years ago Bridget and Roger Lehet were living on a 30-foot boat with their daughter in what they thought was absolute poverty. Out of necessity they invented a multi-fueled wood cook stove, originally designed for the boat, but also perfect for any small space such as yurts, RVs, cabins, or any other place where portable heating and cooking are required.

The stove's compact design, measuring 30 inches tall with a 10-inch diameter, allows it to be installed with very little footprint, while its burn technology offers plenty of useable heat with little to no visible emission, said Bridget Lehet.

One of the key features which make this stove unique is its portability. Weighing only 80 pounds, and utilizing a 3-inch chimney system vented through the RV's roof, this complete unit can be deployed in minutes, possibly for disaster relief efforts.

Another unique feature is the patent-pending secondary combustion system which recycles exhaust gasses from the primary fire by re-burning them at temperatures of up to 1,600 F which completely incinerates all carcinogenic smoke particles before they become pollution, she explained.

This also allows the Kimberly Stove to operate on very little fuel. For winter heating, a 5-pound extruded sawdust log will provide enough heat to keep the average boat or RV warm and cozy for at least 8 hours, and provide more than 1,100 F for cooking.

For spring and fall use, one pound of standard charcoal will run this stove at a lower heat range for up to 12 hours.

Flexibility of fuel types is another unique feature of the Kimberly stove. The firebox and all areas of high temperature and corrosive exposure are constructed completely of type 316L high temperature stainless steel.

"This allows users to select fuels other stoves can’t burn such as salt water drift wood, charcoal and coal," said Bridget. "Soon we will be able to offer the ability to use pellets, gasses and oils, such as bio diesel.

"We firmly believe that the Kimberly Stove can and will have a huge impact globally," she explained. "Our aim is to address key issues with green technology which will also provide jobs while caring for our environment."

Interesting... from the headline I was wondering how this differed from previous marine/rv stoves and the story told me.

Sounds like a solid concept and I hope it works out

Hello Phredstoner......nice screen name, lol

It is my understanding, since I myself tried to purchase a marine stove, that everything available for marine use offers a burn time of about two to four hours and would use alot more fuel than does the Kimberly. The reason for this is that these stoves, much like the residential stoves before epa certification, burn their fuel in a way which caused allot of unburned gasses to escape the firebox and go up into the air. These gasses are actually the most potent portion of the total heat energy released from the fire wood when burned. Our process causes rapid burning of these gasses in the secondary combustion area of the stove. This combination of primary burn releasing these gasses and our combustor pack reburning said gasses allows us to burn the fuel load slowly and the secondary gasses rapidly for a clean burn which lasts hours on little fuel. Some of the other differences would include all stainless steel construction for long service life and flexibility of fuel type, including salt water drift wood. Our double wall construction and super insulation values allow this stove to be installed where other stoves just wont fit. As an environmentalist I enjoy the fact that most of the time these stoves are running you can not see any smoke at the chimney top which means that all of the available stored heat energy is used and not "dumped" into the air as waste or pollution.

Winter has definitely settled in for the third time since Kimberly came to be. In an uncertain economical time with a different sort of stove which many folks don’t understand price wise, I wanted to reflect on how this unit serves us on a broken budget. Our bedroom is nice and warm, and like on the boat we are also relieved of the moisture issue that makes getting into bed less than enjoyable. gone are the days of musty clothes and bed sheets, Mold and mildew common to small concrete structures, boats and rv’s. Gone as well the fear of power outages. We cook and heat for just a couple bucks a day worth of whatever wood product we wish. In total the cost of a Kimberly is about average to the total cost of an average stove and chimney, but the fuel savings and the peace of mind that both consumption and emissions are kind to our environment. The idea that this family run business practices green production methods, and employes fellow Americans in a time of exporting jobs, to build the finest with out planning the life span so as to sell you another one. Yes we are aware this stove is priced at $3500.00, but we invite you to REALLY compare. Write us for help in understanding how there is no better “complete” price for the value packed into this all stainless stove with as comprehensive warranty as we offer. Free yourself from long hours at the wood pile and sit in comfort, warmth, security that you will have heat anywhere, any time, with little fuel or cost. This overcomes the initial price.

Humbly,

The inventor
