OTTAWA, Ontario -- Today, Go RVing Canada is celebrating the halfway point of its summer "Take your Best RV Shot" photo contest. To mark this occasion, Go RVing Canada is announcing the names of the blue ribbon panel of expert judges who will be choosing the contest winners at the end of August.
Joining the panel are three veteran journalists and news photographers. The panel members are:
• Joel-Denis Bellavance, • Fred Chartrand, and • Jim Wells.
Mr. Bellavance is a leading national political reporter for La Presse in Ottawa, a frequent TV commenter on CTV, and an avid RV enthusiast. Mr. Chartrand is a national award-winning photographer/photo journalist who recently retired from a long, successful career with the Canadian Press. Now a freelance photographer, he contributes to national newspapers, magazines, news agencies and Government of Canada Departments. Mr. Wells is a 29 year veteran staff photographer with the Calgary Sun Newspaper who has shot everything from U.S. Presidents to high profile sporting events.
Go RVing Canada is encouraging all RV enthusiasts across the country to submit their best RV-related camping photos online for a chance to win one of five amazing prizes. The grand prize for best overall photo is a $750 gift card to Henry's, Canada's Digital Camera Centre. There will also be four chances to win a $200 President's Choice gift card. Contestants can submit their photos into four categories, including:
• Fun-filled discoveries and activities; • family portraits; • memorable sunsets; and • breathtaking nature.
Go RVing Canada hopes to encourage those who take advantage of fun and affordable RV vacationing to share their RV experiences. Canada is full of spectacular campgrounds and this summer is a perfect opportunity to enjoy more vacation time within our country. With the increased success of the Canadian RV industry, RV sales have seen an impressive jump in sales figures across the board, signifying that a record number of Canadian families are discovering the fun and flexible travel that the RV lifestyle provides.
Winners of the contest will be announced Sept. 2, 2011. Top photos selected will be based on the following criteria:
• Overall appearance and beauty; • originality and creativity; • relevance to the four categories; and • best representation of the RV lifestyle.
