Winnebago promotes Olson to product compliance manager

FOREST CITY, Iowa — Winnebago Industries, Inc. has announced the promotion of Tom Olson to the position of product compliance manager.

A 27-year-veteran of Winnebago, Olson is responsible for proactive product safety efforts, including compliance with national, state, industry and corporate codes, standards, requirements, and specifications.  He also has responsibility for National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall reporting and corporate response.  Olson also assists the legal department in case history evaluation and management, as well as serving as company representative during mediation and litigation.

Olson brings to his new role a background enriched by years of hands-on service and technical service positions.  He began his career at Winnebago in 1984 on the production line and then moved to customer service as an RV technician before leaving the company’s employ for three years.  In 1993, Olson rejoined Winnebago as a quality control inspector and served in various customer service, service and technical advisor, and product compliance roles before being promoted to his current position in December 2014.

A native of Bricelyn, Minn., Olson attended Canby Area Vocational Technical Institute, Canby, Minn., and Mankato Area Vocational Technical Institute, Mankato, Minn. He also has completed the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Registered Service Advisor/Writer, Registered RV Technician, and Master Certified Technician courses.

Olson resides in Forest City with his wife, Jill, and has five grown children.
