(Feb. 2, 2012) -- The Mason City Globe Gazette writes that in 2011, three Winnebago Industries employees raised 14 percent of the money collected from Winnebago County’s annual Daffodil Days fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

FOREST CITY, Iowa — The Mason City Globe Gazette writes that in 2011, three Winnebago Industries employees raised 14 percent of the money collected from Winnebago County’s annual Daffodil Days fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Parts administrators Robin Rauk and Paula Appel and parts manager Gloria Kearney helped raise the money in memory of Mary Martinson, a co-worker who died of cancer in 2010 and who had organized the company daffodil fundraiser in past years, writes the Mason City Globe Gazette.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports that the Daffodil Days campaign is under way with orders being taken until Feb. 20. Daffodils can be purchased in bunches or sent anonymously to cancer patients. The women are hoping to raise more than last year’s total of $1,800, which helps fund cancer research in Iowa.
