CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — Maybury James, a specialist insurance broker based in the West Midlands of the UK, has been acquired by Vantage Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of NSM Insurance Group. This is the first acquisition made by Vantage Holdings since it was acquired in December 2016 by NSM Insurance Group and forms an integral part of its strategy to expand in the UK insurance market.
John Collyear CEO of Vantage said, “We are delighted to welcome Maybury James Ltd into the Vantage Group and we very much look forward to working with the excellent management team and staff at Peter James Insurance and Stewart Miller Insurance.”
He added, “This acquisition is an important first step in our ambition to become one of the UK’s leading specialist insurance brokers.”
“A key aspect of this growth strategy is to expand our specialist insurance operations and we were immediately attracted to Maybury James because of the nature of their business,” he continued. “They, like us, are highly niche and their classic car, classic motorcycle and classic motor trade business will complement very nicely with our own Classic Insurance Services business and through Peter James Insurance we will be well placed to expand in this exciting market. It will also give us a valuable presence in the West Midlands and a more diverse commercial book of business.”
Peter James MD of Peter James Insurance and Stewart Miller Insurance said, “After a long career in the Insurance Industry and a 40-year involvement with the Classic Vehicle Movement I see this move to join the Vantage Group as being a logical next step in our development. My fellow directors, Cheryl Maybury and Tracey James, our management team, our staff and myself look forward to working with our new colleagues and growing our footprint in the specialist vehicle sector.”
VISL’s core activities in the outdoor leisure and enthusiast sector include the following: Caravan, static caravan and caravan and motorhome trade, motorhomes, towing vehicles and more.
