Thor names director of community engagement

ELKHART, Ind. — Thor Industries has hired Rick Schutt as director of Community Engagement. In his newly created role, Schutt will be responsible for developing stronger relationships with school and community leaders to promote the RV industry and enhance Thor’s ability to positively impact the areas where Thor’s subsidiaries currently operate.

“We are pleased to welcome Rick to Thor and look forward to his contributions in our efforts to deepen our connections with local schools and local community leaders,” commented Bob Martin, Thor president and CEO. “In connection with implementing our strategic plan, we identified the need to leverage Thor’s key strengths within the communities where our subsidiaries operate. After a concerted effort, we believe we’ve found the right person to deliver positive results for our companies.”

Schutt was most recently a lead news anchor for WSBT-TV CBS, South Bend, Indiana. Previously, Schutt served as an anchor at WICD-TV ABC, Champaign, Illinois and WSJV-TV Fox 28, South Bend. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Health, with a concentration in Business, and holds certification from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
