WALLAND, Tenn. — The Tennessee Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds has identified campgrounds and RV parks with space available for Hurricane Florence evacuees.
“Tennessee’s campgrounds and RV parks have availability and are ready to accept evacuees, we have been assisting many people for the last several days,” said Jimmy Felton, executive director of the Tennessee Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.
Most campgrounds are pet friendly.
“We’ll take any critter you can transport,” said Donna Martin, co-owner of True West Campground, Stables and Mercantile in Jamestown. “If they can carry them here, we will make it work: Llamas, chickens, cows, goats, horses, dogs, cats, iguanas. Bring ‘em on!”
Felton recommends evacuees contact the park of interest to them ahead of time to reserve a space. He noted that www.CampInTennessee.com has listings and descriptions of Tennessee campgrounds and RV Parks.
Many parks also have cabin rentals for evacuees, Felton said. These include:
