BEAVERTON, Ore. — Phil and Tracey May, owners of TechnoRV, announced today that they have sold the company to Eric and Tami Johnson.
TechnoRV travels the RV rally circuit offering seminars on technical-related issues concerning RVers and selling new products to better help them remain connected on the road.
“For personal and health reasons, Tracey and I will be spending more time in the UK, which means that it’s going to be too hard for us to continue giving TechnoRV the attention it deserves,” Phil May revealed in an e-mail announcement.
“Both Tracey and I have personally spent a great deal of time getting to know Eric and Tami and know that they have the same dedication to customer service and excellence that we strive to offer,” he added. “We both share a similar vision for TechnoRV and I consider myself very fortunate to be able to leave TechnoRV in such capable hands. Given their combined passion, knowledge and experience, I am convinced that they have what it takes to grow TechnoRV into an industry leader.”
The Johnsons joined the Mays at the TechnoRV booth at the FMCA rally in Pomona, Calif., in March, and then in Charleston for some extensive training, planning and tea drinking, Phil noted.
“I knew that when I transitioned from a regular 9 to 5 corporate life that I wanted to do something exciting,” said Eric Johnson. “We started to rethink our plans for our life over a year ago, and began by moving full-time into a fifth wheel RV. We have no kids living with us full-time anymore, and we were tired of owning big houses filled with lots of ‘stuff. So we sold it all and joined the ranks of the full timers.
“For the next 6 months we plan to get our feet planted firmly into the operations of TechnoRV, and because of this we do not plan to attend any rallies until the end of the year. Then in 2016, we plan to start a full-time tour of RV rallies,” he added.
