Tech training set for America’s Largest RV Show

HERSHEY, Penn. — America’s Largest RV Show, slated for September 11-17 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, announced a full roster of RV tech training. The training is free to all Pennsylvania Recreation Vehicle & Camping Association (PRVCA) members.

The courses are as follows:

PDI Tips and Tricks with Gary Bunzer
September 11 or September 12
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
$30; FREE to PRVCA members (Lunch Included)
Earn 6 recertification hours

In this session, learn all the tricks to performing quick, efficient and complete Pre Delivery Inspections (PDI) on any recreational vehicle, new or used. Presented by RV Hall of Famer, Gary Bunzer, the RV Doctor, this class also features two hands-on exercises performing the code required leak tests for the fresh water system and the propane system using specialty test devices. Designed for all RV service technicians, this class conforms to the standards of the NFPA 1192 and the RVIA/RVDA certification exam.

Reese, Tekonsha and Bulldog RV Products by Reese (Horizon Global)
September 11 from 1 to 3 p.m. or September 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
Tuesday, September 12; 10AM – 12PM
Earn 2 recertification hours

This session will look at Reese, Tekonsha and Bulldog RV towing products, short-bed truck solutions, goose boxes, weight distribution, fifth wheel hitches and rail kits and more.

Convert your Converter to a Smart Inverter/Charger with Xantrex
September 11 or September 12
10 a.m. to Noon
$20; FREE to PRVCA members (Lunch Included)

This class will cover installing an inverter/charger to replace an existing converter, or battery charger.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
$30; FREE to PRVCA members (includes lunch)
Earn 6 re-certification hours

Learn the history, innovation, key features and more on the AquaGo and Combi Truma products. Learn how to identify the products, the features and benefits, basic operating sequences and what makes Truma products unique. Hands-on training will be included.

Selling Accessories in the Internet Age
September 12
1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Keller Marine & RV will cover display ideas, merchandising and new product presentation by leading distributors. The class will cover KWEB, a business to business tool that can help every day from shelf talkers to customizing price stickers.

Troubleshooting and Better Understanding LP Gas Systems and Components
September 12
1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Earn 1 re-certification hour

MEC helps students learn how to properly test an LP gas systems, including flow and lock up. Understand the importance of purging new cylinders, vaporization rates of cylinders and learn how this can cause issues with RV appliances. Learn why one size of regulator does not fit all anymore and how an auto changeover really works.

Cummins Onan
September 11
10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
$20; FREE to PRVCA members (lunch included)
Earn 4 recertification hours

In this combination diesel engine and generator session, Duane Fisk from Cummins Onan and Chris Crowel from Cummins Inc. will address the most frequently asked questions about RV generators and Cummins diesel powered motorhome drive engines. Learn about proper maintenance, operating techniques, exercising, dash lamps, fuel economy, common issues and service resources. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Norcold and Thetford
September 12
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
$30; FREE to PRVCA members (lunch included)
Earn 6 recertificaton hours

This training will cover all aspects of the electronic models of Norcold Refrigerators with hands on (by use of training mockups). It will also cover electronic toilets. Atendees will also be supplied with a manual that covers the Norcold Refrigerators.

Workamper Employer Clinic
September 11
1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
$30; FREE to PRVCA members (lunch included)

Join Steve Anderson, president of Workamper News for the Workamper Employer Clinic. The presentation will cover why use workampers versus local hires, developing a workamper program, effective means of recruitment, interviewing over the phone or Skype, the workamper hiring process, management of workampers and more.
