MCKINNEY, Texas — MCD Innovations today announced that Matthew A. Taylor has been appointed president of the company. As president, Taylor will be responsible for directing and controlling the company and all day-to-day operations.
“I am very enthused with the potential I see at MCD. Facilitating and directing the explosive growth I foresee in the RV and commercial markets as well as looking at possible acquisitions or mergers will be quite exciting,” said Taylor.
Taylor has considerable operating experience having worked in large multi-national companies, family-run businesses, and private equity ventures. He began his career with Deloitte Consulting where he rose to leading the telecom and media practice in Texas prior to his departure. Strategic, financial, and operations experience came through roles taken on during his career including being president and CEO of Medco Sports Medicine, Resource Satellite and Scrip Companies.
Taylor’s mergers and acquisitions experience will prove to be instrumental to MCD as the company continues to expand and grow, said Dave Townsley, founder of MCD, who noted he has chosen to limit his daily involvement and time in the office and instead focus on providing input and counsel to Taylor on new products, innovations and developments, and market strategies going forward.
“I am extremely pleased to have found someone of Matt’s caliber to lead MCD into the future and help take the Company to the next level; he will be a tremendous asset to the company” said Townsley. “My family and I have enjoyed taking MCD from its very humble beginnings in 2003 and growing it to where it has now become North America’s largest roller shade manufacturer.”
“I believe the future of our company is very bright indeed,” he added. “We expect to experience phenomenal growth in 2014 due not only to our dominance of the recovering/growing RV market but also due to the success of our commercial shade division in landing contracts with such clients as Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, Staples, Advanced Auto Parts, and others.”
