Southern RV Supercenter acquires Stevens RV

BOSSIER CITY, La. — Southern RV Supercenter of Bossier City, La., announced today that it has acquired Stevens RV Center of Lafayette, La.

The acquisition was effective June 1, 2010. Both dealerships carry multiple brands of the leading motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers and popup campers.

Southern RV Supercenter was established in 2000 in Bossier City, La., and opened a second dealership in Tyler, Texas, in 2007, making it the largest dealer in the tri-state region.

“Our expansion into south Louisiana will strengthen the company’s market penetration in Louisiana and East Texas, said Jim Hicks, owner of Southern RV Supercenter. “With more than 40 years in the RV business, we believe that Stevens RV has the reputation and quality of service and products that creates a good match with the Southern RV organization. We value the RV experience that Stevens RV brings to the table.”

The new Lafayette location is a full-service dealership offering hundreds of new and used RVs for sale. There is also a fully stocked parts department and a 12-bay service facility. It is an authorized warranty repair center for Thor, Forest River, Keystone and many others. The Lafayette store employs several Recreational Vehicle Industry Association certified technicians.

RV inventory at the Lafayette location includes motorhomes from Damon, Coachman and Forrester; fifth wheels Alpine, Avalanche, Laredo, Fuzion, Jayco, Cardinal and Sandpiper; and travel trailers from Springdale, Sandpiper, Jayco, Lacrosse, and Tracer.

Southern RV’s Lafayette facility is located two miles north of I-10 on the I-49 frontage road at 3030 NE Evangeline Thruway. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
