RVIA Members encouraged to host a plant tour

UNITED STATES — In August, members of Congress head home to their districts for the summer recess. The House of Representatives has already adjourned and the Senate will do so on August 11. RVIA reports this is the perfect opportunity to build upon the relationships established during Advocacy Day by having members of Congress or their staff visit your plant.

A plant tour gives Members of Congress an opportunity to gain greater insights into your business and to hear about industry issues firsthand. These visits are invaluable to helping officials understand the impact of proposed policies on individuals and businesses in their district.

Although having the member of Congress visit your plant is ideal, it also can be effective to ask a staff person to visit. Officials sometimes make decisions about where they might spend their time based on a positive experience their staff person had.

RVIA is happy to assist members in hosting a plant tour. Please reach out to any member of the government affairs staff to help plan your plant tour.

I had the opportunity to tour the Silvercrest factory in Corona, CA as part of an RV Park Day put on by the California Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds. It was a very educational and informative experience getting to see all the steps in the construction process and all the people the factory employs. I highly recommend the tour if you get the chance.
