FAIRFAX, Va. — An RV service department can achieve that elusive goal of reaching a fixed absorption rate of 100 percent. Dealership profitability expert Chad Carr will help show dealers how to make it happen during a free webinar in advance of his convention workshop to prepare participants with a jumpstart on learning his techniques.
The webinar will take place Oct. 28 at noon ET and is intend for those who will attend his “Driving Your Service Department Toward 100% Fixed Absorption” workshop at the 2014 RV Dealers International Convention/Expo.
The convention has an entire track of a dozen service education workshops over four days, featuring sessions on the value of in-house body shops, departmental profitability, methods for hiring trained technicians, and more.
Carr’s convention workshop takes place Nov. 12 from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. and will only be offered one time. To best prepare for this important session, attendance at the webinar is recommended.
“The online event is a valuable opportunity to determine if this workshop will be right for you,” said Julianne Ryder, RVDA marketing communications specialst. “It will also give you the tools to assess where your department is on its journey toward 100 percent fixed absorption.”

Themed “Passport to Excellence: Education & Training,” the convention will provide targeted learning opportunities for dealers and key members of their staff. Workshop tracks are in place for dealer/GMs, sales staff, parts and service managers, and dealership professionals in marketing and rental operations. Vendor Training +Plus, back for its second year, will give registrants more opportunities for training during the first day and a half of the convention, and it is included in the regular registration fee.
