ELKHART — The conversation began at the SEMA Show last November. That’s where Ben Bontrager and David Flock of Elkhart-based MITO Corp. stumbled upon Pecca luxury leather, RV Pro reported.
For the past 40 years, MITO had solely focused on importing and distributing audio and visual products for the automotive, marine, and RV industry. But it was time to diversify. The company sought to expand beyond its electronic products like the popular 12-volt hotspot, and given its wide distribution channels, OEM leather seemed like a comfy fit.
“It really seemed to be a perfect marriage between the two companies,” said Bontrager, aftermarket sales manager of MITO. “Because we’re so entrenched from our automotive aftermarket division in the automotive aftermarket industry, the leather was a natural segue.”
