RV Business: Forest River to expand XLR boost production

ELKHART, Ind — Forest River Inc. announced it will be expanding production of its XLR toy hauler product into a facility located in Butler, Ind. within a month or so, reports RV Business.

While production of the XLR Thunderbolt, Hyperlite and Nitro models remains unchanged, assembly of the XLR Boost — which currently shares a production facility with Forest River’s Wolfpack and Vengeance models — will be moving to the new northeast Indiana location north of Fort Wayne.

Officials said the move would not only help the company increase production of its XLR Boost, but it is an attempt to find suitable employment to build the units. With the RV industry booming, manufacturers and suppliers are finding it difficult to find employees in the immediate Elkhart area. The 20-acre XLR Boost parcel in Butler is located about 73 miles to the east, near the Ohio border.
