BREVARD, North Carolina — With demand peaking for its GO “adventure camper,” SylvanSport is well underway with the next phase of a methodical growth plan as the builder transitions from niche player to securing market share in the crowded lightweight towable space, reports RV Business.
“The technology and the design came from the outdoor gear side,” said founder and President Tom Dempsey, who held executive positions with Coleman and Perception Kayaks before founding SylvanSport in 2004.
“We actually started manufacturing the GO in 2008 – right as the recession hit – and for a number of years we straddled the line between outdoor gear and RV retailers. The product had appeal to both sides.”
