Podcast 127: Spartan’s Advanced Protection System

Fusion Feb 2017 650x90

Steve Guillaume, the president of Spartan Specialty Vehicles, is featured on Podcast 127 of RV Industry News. His company introduced some revolutionary technology at the Tampa RV Supershow in January.

Called the Spartan Advanced Protection System, it incorporates radar-based collision mitigation, electronic stability control, adaptive cruise control and Spartan’s Safe Haul proprietary air braking to make a safer motorhome chassis.

It works to sense the environment around an RV and automatically slow it down when it detects the vehicles in front of it are slowing down. It will also speed up automatically while maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles. Should another vehicle cut in front of the motorhome, the system works to stop the RV to avoid a collision.

Spartan produced a video demonstrating the technology in action that is available for viewing on YouTube.
