This week’s guest is a person who has found a very unique niche in which to serve women who want to buy and use RVs. Janine Pettit is the founder of Girl Camper, an organization that seeks to provide resources for women who want to buy and use RVs, and to live a mobile lifestyle in full confidence.
Janine is very careful to note there is a huge difference between glamping – glamorous camping – and girl camping. Some girl campers like to camp in luxury, but many others prefer a scaled back, more simple lifestyle where they can experience the outdoors and travel.
Girl Camper offers what it calls Camper Colleges to train women to become RV owners and users. It’s not an empowerment thing, Janine explains, but rather a means to encourage women to embrace the lifestyle and opportunity. The Girl Camper movement naturally attracts a lot of solo RVers, but also plenty of married women who just want to enjoy a weekend away with the girls.
For Janine, it’s not so much a business or opportunity as it is to minister to women of all ages.
