HUDSON, Ma. — It’s January and that means the consumer RV show season launches with the impressive Boston RV & Camping Expo this weekend. The show and sale is at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in the city’s popular Seaport District. The show is produced by Paragon Group of Needham, Massachusetts, and is sponsored by the New England RV Dealers Association (NERVDA).
Paragon Group and NERVDA partnered with each other in 2013 when Bob Zagami took over as executive director of the association. Hosting the show and seasonal sales event at one of the country’s most impressive event facilities, and with one of the nation’s most professional event management groups, has increased exposure and attendance each year that they have worked together. In 2016 the event drew 12,500 visitors, in 2017 it brought 17,500 RV enthusiasts into Boston, and they expect to see more than 20,000 attendees this weekend.
The show opens Friday and runs through Monday, January 15, of the MLK weekend.
The RV industry continues record growth since the country emerged from the recession. The Elkhart/Goshen area of Indiana, where most RVs are made, is now at full employment. Media outlets around the country continue to report on the record shipments, record sales, and the multiple ways consumers enjoy the products that bring families together, get people outside and provide them with a safe and convenient way to travel to local campgrounds or tour the country when on vacation.
Zagami noted, “Our show and sale this year features everything from pop-up campers around $10,000 to luxury dealer pushers that sell for $500,000. We have more Class B motorhomes and lightweight trailers that are easily towed by small SUVs and half-ton pickup trucks.”
NERVDA represents dealers in all six New England states and each state will be represented in the show. Attendees can also make reservations at the region’s campground as state campground owner associations exhibit and showcase the incredible number of private campgrounds in New England – one of the country’s top tourist areas, rich in history and saturated with outdoor experiences that RVers flock to each year.”
David Major, president of NERVDA and owner of Major’s RV Service Center, said, “We have 20 or our 35 NERVDA dealers in the show this year and there will be over 200 RVs covering three football fields inside this great convention center in the heart of Boston. In addition to RVs and campgrounds, we have accessory vendors offering everything needed to enjoy camping in New England or RVing around the country.”
