SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The last 20 employees laid off in Dec. 2006 from Navistar International Corp.’s Springfield plant were sent recall letters Friday and returned to the plant on Monday, reports the Springfield News Sun.
“We are going to be having a schedule change at the plant, and as a result of that schedule change, it required more of our employees to come back to work,” said Jim Rumpf, plant manager. “It’s a really exciting time for us right now.”
Barlow also said that more jobs have been added. Navistar transferred seven workers from the closed Indianapolis plant and hired 22 people at the Navistar Truck Specialty Center next door, reports the Springfield News Sun.
